My life is not my own. I’m here for a reason and so are you. We are God’s Masterpiece.
Look what Ephesians 2:10 in the New Living Translation says,
For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.
This means our past doesn’t define us. It also means that our future belongs in God’s hands. At this very moment God has a work for us to do.
I like what the Amplified Bible, Classic Edition reads on Ephesians 2:10.
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
In other words our life matters! What and who are we living life for? Does God’s will override our own will? What is God calling you to do today? What is getting in the way?
Jesus was crucified because He told us to change the way we live. Doing things God’s way is not always the most popular way in the eyes of man. God is calling us to look deeper into the things that are to come and to live accordingly to His plans.
Jesus said, “I didn’t make this up. What I teach comes from the One who sent me. Anyone who wants to do his will can test this teaching and know whether it’s from God or whether I’m making it up. A person making things up tries to make himself look good. But someone trying to honor the one who sent him sticks to the facts and doesn’t tamper with reality. It was Moses, wasn’t it, who gave you God’s Law? But none of you are living it. So why are you trying to kill me?” John 7:17-19(MSG)
In short this is what the scripture says,
Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own. John 7:17 (NIV)
John 7:17 means to me that God’s word directs our path. It’s our map. Any thought, idea, request, or decision needs to be filtered through the Bible. This is how we know God’s will for our life. Does our choices line up with God’s plan?
So be careful to do what the Lord your God has commanded you; do not turn aside to the right or to the left. 33 Walk in obedience to all that the Lord your God has commanded you, so that you may live and prosper and prolong your days in the land that you will possess. Deuteronomy 5:32-33 (NIV)
This is the day that the Lord has made. It’s a new day. It is God’s day and we get to be in partnership with Him. Let’s hang out with the Creator and see what He does through us.
When we decrease God will increase.
