Is Your Heart Troubled by Your Child’s Behavior?
Parenting can be hard, scary, overwhelming, and frustrating. We all go into parenting with, ideas, hopes, desires, and we never expect our hearts to be broken or troubled with worry, confusion, or sadness. Sometimes we are shocked by our children’s behavior.
If you are a struggling parent today, faced with unforeseen trials, exhausted by the testing of your faith, and feeling overwhelmed, may I comfort you with this?
I been there, it hurts when we see our children hurt.
God calls us to stand firm on His word. We may not understand why our children are struggling, but God has a plan for them.
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope. Jeremiah 29:11
Some of the hardest trials parents are faced with today include children having bad attitudes, emotional outbursts, lack of interest, unhealthy habits, inability to focus, back talk, arguing, laziness, and disrespect.
Many children lack vision for their future, they don’t like to be told what to do, and they refuse to settle down when things don’t go their way. They argue all the time and they think they know everything.
This is a big problem. We can’t overlook it. We must get to the heart of the matter and deal with it.
I’m trained and prepared to help parents with this!!!
I’m a Certified Parent Coach, it’s a privilege and honor to help others. It’s my desire to help any parent who is just starting out or who has ten kids
I have a boy who is nine, and a girl who is seven. I’ve discovered in my nine years of parenting that I need a roadmap to navigate through this unknown land.
Parenting is like traveling down a wild road with bumps, pot holes, twisty turns, ups and downs. We feel like we are at a dead end when everything we have tried doesn’t work. When we need to make serious decisions for our kids, we often feel like we are at a cross road with no direction and this can leave us feeling, puzzled, frustrated, angry, or fearful.
If your life is messy at home right now, I’d like to encourage you to stop trying to figure it out all on your own. Stop driving around without clear directions and let God fill you with peace, comfort, and hope.
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28
There are seasons in our life where God calls us to be a passenger, relax, take in the view, listen, and learn. He wants to be the driver and take us places that we never been before. He longs to speak to our hearts and show us how to be better Parents. I can help you with this. I’m offering an eight-week Parent Training Program. I’d like to be your coach and help you navigate your way through troublesome behaviors and help you find the answers that you been looking for.
Nobody can fully be prepared for the challenges that may come our way as parents. I reached a point in my parenting where I needed Godly Council from experienced parents. A year ago, I didn’t understand how to reach my kids. They needed more from me and I didn’t know what to give them.
God in all His faithfulness directed me to National Center For Biblical Parenting
and directed me to Dr. Scott Turansky and Joanne Miller
This was one of the first things I read from their website and I was sold. I knew that God led me to this program.
“Using a heart-based approach we can help any child with any problem at any age change.
The Coaching Program provides a road map for parents that inspires hope and empowers them with practical tools to use right away. Parents are the best counselors for their kids when they have a good plan.
Miracles happen in eight weeks in the lives of children and parents. Parents sometimes laugh when we say that, but then they get into the program and can’t believe the changes they see. Get help now.”
I clicked on get help now and our family life changed for the better.
After going through the program for myself, I decided to become a Parent Coach and I received this message upon completion from Dr. Scott Turansky, Cofounder at National Center for Biblical Parenting.
“I highly recommend Lisa Brown in her work as a Biblical Parenting Coach. The program walks parents through a powerful training that reaches the heart of the child. If you see tendencies in your child that concern you, then it’s best to take action now. Jesus revealed that those tendencies come from the heart. Yet so many parents rely on reward/punishment models to change their kids. In this program Lisa helps parents get to deeper issues and helps children actually change.”
I believe that when we focus on the heart, not just the behavior, that Children will want to change, in time they internally decide to make life long decisions to serve, honor, respect, and love others.
As children learn right from wrong, their conscious develops and their behavior will follow accordingly. Heart base parenting helps create harmony, new patterns, breaks old habits, inspires, and encourages. In this eight-week training program, parents learn how to observe their children’s interactions, responses, and problem areas. Once we identify a character quality that needs some work, we pick an arena in their life for them to practice change.
No matter what age we are, our hearts need attention. It’s in our heart that we experience tension, fear, shame, guilt, hate and so much more. When we ask the Holy Spirit to change our heart, He comes in and gives us hope, vision, compassion, and rest.
I encourage parents to pray for their children to know God, seek God for understanding, and to implement parenting strategies that guide their child to the very heart of God’s word, mercy, and grace.
I will give them a heart to know Me, for I am the LORD; and they will be My people, and I will be their God, for they will return to Me with their whole heart. Jeremiah 24:7
God heard my cry, I cried for my son’s stubborn heart to be softened, and I prayed that he would make good choices. He answered my Momma heart prayer and He will answer yours too. And this is how I know,
At our house, we all pray before we go to bed. My nine-year-old son asked God to help him decide if he should listen to an audio book that he got from the library or not.
I’m so proud of my son for checking in with God about this. All on his own, he wanted to make sure that he wasn’t doing anything that would offend God.
