Don't Panic - Be Still

Don’t Panic When Life Gets…..

Where do you go for help when life gets hard?   What do you do when you receive bad news?   Do you panic and run around like a cat with string on it’s tail?  It’s pretty cute for a cat but not so much for people.

I remember a time when life as I knew it had changed and bad news put me in an uncomfortable situation.  The only thing I had control over was my response to it.  And I panicked because I didn’t like the fact that I couldn’t change or fix the problem.

In my anxiousness I tried to comfort myself with food and it didn’t help.  My friends were kind but I needed more.   There was no cure and depression took over.  Not a great place to be.  My ways have changed.

Since then I have learned that there is absolutely nothing in this world that can comfort me like God can.  He calls me to be still before Him and to give Him my fears.  It’s when I stop before panic and I wait for Him to show up that I can truly rest.  He shows up in His word, through prayer, music, nature, and His Holy Spirit the Comforter.  I’m learning to surrender and know Him as the Lord over my life.

If you been hit today with a life changing challenge let me encourage you to be still before God and let Him be your peace.   We will have many troubles in our life and God will make himself known to us if we seek Him with all of our heart.

BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD Psalm 46:10
